Incoterms We Work With

EXW

Ex Works

The buyer collects goods from our warehouse or nominated point in Tanzania. The buyer arranges all transport, export clearance, and insurance from that point onward.

FOB

Free on Board

Global Agrichain delivers goods onto the vessel at the port of Dar es Salaam. Risk transfers to the buyer once the goods are loaded. This is the most common term for containerised agricultural exports.

CFR

Cost and Freight

We arrange and pay for freight to the destination port. Risk transfers to the buyer at the port of loading, but we cover the shipping cost to the named destination.

CIF

Cost, Insurance, and Freight

The same as CFR, with the addition that we arrange marine insurance to the destination port. The buyer receives goods with freight and basic insurance covered in the price.

DAP

Delivered at Place

Global Agrichain delivers goods to a named destination in the buyer's country, cleared for import but not unloaded. Available for selected corridors and regional deliveries.

Other Terms

By Arrangement

If your logistics require a different Incoterm, specify it in your inquiry. We structure each transaction around the term that works for both parties.

The applicable Incoterm is agreed per transaction and confirmed in the sales contract. Our Trade Intelligence page explains how each term affects cost, risk, and documentation in detail.

Payment

Payment Methods

Payment terms are agreed per transaction and depend on the commodity, volume, relationship history, and destination market. The following methods are supported.

Preferred for first transactions

Irrevocable Letter of Credit at Sight

Confirmed, irrevocable LC at sight, issued by a reputable bank. This is the standard payment method for first-time and institutional transactions. The LC should be issued in favour of Global Agrichain Limited and confirmed by a Tanzanian correspondent bank.

Established relationships

Telegraphic Transfer (TT)

Wire transfer, typically structured as an advance payment or split payment (partial advance, balance against documents). TT terms are available for repeat buyers and established trade relationships.

By arrangement

Documentary Collection

Documents against payment (D/P) or documents against acceptance (D/A) may be considered for selected transactions, subject to credit assessment and the nature of the commodity.

Domestic and regional

Direct Payment

For domestic Tanzanian and regional East African transactions, direct bank transfer or mobile payment arrangements can be agreed based on the transaction size and delivery terms.

Important Note on Commercial Terms

The Incoterms and payment methods described on this page represent the framework within which Global Agrichain typically operates. Actual terms for any transaction are subject to mutual agreement and are confirmed in the sales contract. Terms may vary depending on the commodity, volume, destination, relationship history, and prevailing market conditions. Nothing on this page constitutes a binding offer or commitment to trade on specific terms.
